Evaluation Pattern for Madhyamik(Clas IX,X) Level
EVALUATION PATTERN FOR MADHYAMIK (Class IX, X) LEVEL
As per the dictates of the Right to Education Act, 2009 Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) has been made mandatory in the educational fabric of every state. In line with this dictate, a new CCE pattern, the Peacock Model, has been in operation in West Bengal since 2013. All Government, Government-aided, and Government-sponsored schools in West Bengal are evaluating students from class I – Class VIII by following this model.
Following this sea-change, the expert committee on school education has attempted to redesign the evaluation pattern at the Madhyamik level (Classes IX & X). In this new pattern there two premises of evaluation: Internal formative evolution & Summative Evolution.
